About the Speaker

Dr. Cayce Myers, Ph.D., LL.M., J.D., APR is a nationally recognized expert on communication law and emerging technologies. He serves as the Director of Graduate Studies and a professor in the School of Communication at Virginia Tech, where he teaches courses on public relations, media law, and political communication.

Dr. Myers holds a Ph.D. in mass communication, a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in law and business, and a Juris Doctor (J.D.). His research focuses on how legal and regulatory frameworks impact public relations and media practices—particularly in the age of digital innovation and AI.

An Accredited Public Relations (APR) professional and long-time PRSA member, Dr. Myers is an active contributor to the PRSA community. He frequently presents at national PRSA conferences and has written extensively for Strategies & Tactics, PRSA’s signature publication. His work bridges the gap between academic research and real-world application, making him a go-to voice on legal and ethical issues in modern communication.
