Position Description/Overview

The communications manager is responsible for executing upon public relations and internal communications programs for Press Ganey. The manager will work closely with the director to develop parallel communication plans to enhance awareness and drive positive perception via media relations and social media. Additionally, the manager will work cross-departmentally with HR to implement internal communication strategies to increase engagement and build a shared culture.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Supports media outreach for new product launches and enhancements, thought leadership initiatives, strategic events and executive team appointments
  • Places proactive, positive media stories and manages reactive communication needs
  • Ensures internal- and external-facing messages are consistent to achieve strategic alignment and adherence to style guidelines
  • Initiates the production and dissemination of internal communication assets (executive communications, talking points, briefing documents, intranet, etc.), as part of the overall employee engagement strategy
  • Devises standard operating procedures and key performance indicators, calendarizing communication processes and reporting out on performance
  • Contributes to social media and digital communities via active content development and social listening
  • Oversees vendor and agency day-to-day correspondences and logistics
  • Researches industry trends, media coverage, emerging technologies and best practices to provide strategic communications counsel
  • Crafts, ghostwrites, and curates content, overseeing editorial review and ensuring stakeholder approval

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English or related field is preferred
  • 7+ years’ experience in public relations and/or corporate communications
  • Experience in health care industry; knowledge of the health care media landscape
  • Strong project management skills and ability to complete projects autonomously and collaboratively
  • Solid writing examples and portfolio demonstrating past work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Travel is approximately 20%
