Join us May 21 at noon for an information and networking session to learn the ins and outs of becoming accredited in public relations.  Among the topics the panel will discuss include:

  • How to navigate the APR process in today’s pandemic environment.
  • Dos and Don’ts of preparing for your panel presentation.
  • What does having an APR after your name do for your career?
  • What if I don’t pass?

The session will include an opportunity to ask questions about the process from those who have successfully navigated it.  And, there will be an opportunity to network and share with others considering pursuing accreditation.

It will be moderated by Nashville Chapter Accreditation Chair Aileen Katcher, APR, Fellow PRSA.

Panelists are:

 

Greg Bailey, APR, Fellow PRSA, a founding partner of Finley + Bailey Strategic Communications, has nearly 30 years of experience in public relations, including strategic communications planning, public affairs, corporate communications, media relations, social media, and crisis communications. He has worked with clients in various industries, including pharmaceutical, education, retail, banking, nonprofit, affordable housing, transit, and healthcare. He received his APR in 2000 and serves as the 2021 chair of the PRSA College of Fellows.

 

Ivy Johnson, APR is passionate about social media, communications best practices, and diversity and inclusion. Ivy earned her APR in July 2020. She currently works as a Senior Account Executive at MP&F Strategic Communications. Ivy holds a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications with a concentration in Public Relations from Middle Tennessee State University and a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Journalism and Sociology from the University of Memphis. She is Director-at-Large for the Nashville PRSA Chapter.”

 

Claire Hill, APR, is marketing director at Heritage Bank & Trust in Columbia, Tenn. She also teaches mass communications as an adjunct instructor at Columbia State Community College. She earned her APR this year.  She has a Master of Arts in Corporate Communication from Austin Peay State University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Middle Tennessee State University in mass communications with a focus in public relations. She is a Certified Financial Marketing Professional by the American Banking Association.  An ambassador for Maury Alliance for more than five years she is also a member of the City of Columbia Arts Council.

The event is free for chapter members and $10 for non-members.
